Lab Technician for the Embryo Lab

We are looking for a Lab Technician with passion for learning to work with oocyte searching, grading, and quality assessment. As a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational and communication skills who thrives in a dynamic team environment you might be the one we are looking for.

The position is designed for working with hands-on and real-world experience in reproductive technologies

Your main tasks will be:

  • Oocyte searching and grading for maturation.
  • Conduct oocyte quality assessment at collection; identify and report any anomalies detected during collections.
  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as determined by Viking Genetics.
  • Maintains cleanliness and disinfection of all lab areas.
  • Communicates openly and honestly with fellow team members and supervisor.
  • Recordkeeping/Data Entry.
  • Assist in Quality Control and lab cleanliness.
  • Traveling on farms or slaughterhouses to other centers to provide relief help.
  • Maintain good laboratory technique and follow lab protocols.
  • Supply inventory management
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. 

Workplace: Assentoft by Randers, Denmark

 

Qualifications:

  • AP Graduate in Chemical and Biotechnical Science or similar
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with basic laboratory skills: pipetting, microscopy, centrifugation, etc.
  • Able to work effectively in a team as well as alone 
  • Able to sit for long periods of time behind a microscope, in a lab setting. 
  • Able to work under a laminar flow hood. 
  • Able to perform tasks efficiently in outlined time frames

  • Open to flexible working hours with rotational weekend and holiday work
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Good hand to eye coordination.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Takes initiative and is a self-starter
  • Ability to communicate with team members honestly, effectively and with empathy
